When he joined Acergy in October 2006, Afam was assigned to assemble information from projects undertaken by the Acergy Falcon from 1996-2006, for engineers and planners to have an overview of the vessel’s production capabilities. Afam has also been involved in successfully drafting new technical group guidelines. ‘I am currently involved in a Hot-tap project that is still at the tendering stage and I am really looking forward to making a positive input to the project right from onset.’

GEDS

‘The GEDS has served as an invaluable opportunity for me to interact with people from different cultural backgrounds and it has ultimately enhanced my cultural awareness. The training modules delivered during the programme are helping to lay a solid foundation for my development in the oil and gas industry.’

‘As a graduate engineer, I have been well received and given a lot of encouragement and guidance not just from my mentor but from other Acergy engineers and staff.’

Memory

‘The degree of belief and confidence showed to me by my discipline manager by assigning me to write up a new group guideline document on stud bolts and nuts procurement, handling and deployment from scratch. My draft document is presently under review.’

Tip for fellow graduates

‘If you like travelling and meeting interesting people, Acergy is for you.’
