Far Saga

Far Saga

IMR Vessel

The Far Saga is an IMR (Inspection, Maintenance and Repair) ship, designated to the RAM2000218 contract with Hydro.

Originally built as a platform supply vessel in October 2001 by Farstad Shipping, the Far Saga was converted to an IMR vessel in June 2002. Following the conversion she immediately entered into service as Hydro’s primary IMR vessel. In February 2007 Far Saga went into drydock for a substantial upgrade and is now one of the most efficient and flexible IMR vessels in the North Sea.

The Far Saga has a dedicated Norwegian speaking crew with many years experience from the best ships in the Acergy fleet. The equipment onboard is specified and built under their supervision. To allow operations in as broad weather window as possible, the two ROVs (1 x WROV and 1 x OBSROV) are operated from hangars on the port and starboard side of the ship and both with heave compensated Launch And Recovery Systems (LARS).

Onshore, a designated team of engineers is ready to prepare and manage the jobs that Far Saga is given.
