Maureen Frerichs
Maureen’s first project after joining Acergy in June 2006 was analytical. ‘I worked with a team on a conceptual study about steel catenary risers, learning how to model and perform various computer analyses we then presented the results to our client.’ Maureen is currently involved in tendering work for new projects, including detailing Acergy’s installation procedures and equipment requirements. GEDS ‘I feel that no other company will give better training both in the office and in the field. You will get the opportunity to work on a project all the way from the bidding process to the actual installation and the GEDS programme will give you the tools you need to succeed in this industry.’ Memory ‘My first trip offshore was to Trinidad. I was onboard to follow and learn from one of the senior engineers. After spending so much time carefully planning and engineering a solution to a job in the office, you finally get to see everything in action when you go offshore.’ Tip for fellow graduates ‘The biggest thing I have learned is that not everything is predictable. You just have to be flexible and open minded about different solutions to any issues you experience.’ << BACK TO PREVIOUS PAGE
