Meng Yang joined Acergy in 2005 and has worked on several different projects. He’s recently been involved in performing the installation analysis for the pull-in and lay of the Kerisi development, which he has also taken offshore.

GEDS

‘This is an enriching programme that gives a broad overview of Acergy’s assets, how we conduct our business and the methods with which we carry out our offshore work.’

‘I have also been assigned a mentor who has given me guidance in the technical tasks that I have been given. This greatly speeds up my competency as an engineer.’

Memory

‘My first trip offshore was quite an eye opener. I got to see how the procedures written onshore are put into action. The sight of this was far more beneficial than reading an installation document!

I also grasped a better understanding of the various roles of the people onboard the vessel and the importance of their expertise in various steps of our installation phase.’

Tip for fellow graduates

‘This programme will definitely accelerate your knowledge and your career at Acergy as an engineer.’
