The Acergy Eagle, built in 1997, is one of the most sophisticated subea construction ships in the world. She can undertake a wide range of subsea field development construction tasks which include flexible flowline and umbilical lay, subsea structure installation, flowline tie-in with either saturation diving or ROV intervention as well as FPSO mooring installation and tensioning.
With this range of capabilities she is ideally suited to carry out all of the subsea tasks associated with an FPSO subsea field development particularly in areas of the world which do not have an established marine support infrastructure. Her 250 tonne craneage gives her the ability to load flexible flowline reels in remote locations.
The Tensioning Tower onboard the Acergy Eagle has been designed as a portable and modular unit. The tower simplifies initial operations on the deck, the overboarding of the end termination and abandonment operations by allowing the continuous flow of operations through the use of the crane rather than initiation wires or the A & R winch.
