Acergy Falcon

The Acergy Falcon, formerly a dynamically positioned drill ship, was purchased by Acergy in 1994 and converted to an offshore construction ship with a flexible flowline and remote subsea module handling capability. Flexible flowlines can be stored below deck in a 1600 tonne capacity powered carousel or on reels on deck.

Early in 1996 a rigid pipelay system was installed to lay flowlines of up to 12.75 inches diameter by "J" lay method in water depths of 1000 m. The ship can carry up to 2000 tonnes of pipe joints and can be resupplied at sea.

She is equipped with two work class ROV's which can undertake pipeline tie-in work thereby giving her a worldwide operating capability in her three roles independent of other dedicated support ships.
