The Acergy Piper, one of the world’s most efficient semi-submersible pipelay barges, has an outstanding track record of achievement in the challenging environmental conditions of the UK and Norwegian sectors of the North Sea. She currently holds the record for laying the world’s longest and largest diameter subsea gas pipeline in the world, the 1166 km Langeled Pipeline between Norway and Easington, UK.

She has two doublejointing lines for one main firing line with five welding stations, 1 X-ray station and two pipe-coating stations. The Acergy Piper has the ability to lay pipe of 8 to 60-inch diameter with fully automated welding systems.
