Green Canyon

The aim of the Green Canyon – K2 Umbilical Installation Project was to link two remote wells back to the Host TLP.

The project’s most significant challenge were the tight time scales and to that end a high performance team with great technical competence were selected for the project The umbilical dynamic riser pull in to the TLP 1-tube had to be performed by ROV and involved an additional stiffening clamp along with an extra long bend stiffener. The umbilicals required second-end tie in by means of the stab and hinge over technique. In both instances, procedures were simulated on land enabling detailed installation procedures to be derived and some final modifications to the equipment made.

The project was completed successfully on time, within budget and without incident.
