La Ceiba

Working as contractor to operators Triton Energy and Amerada Hess, Triton La Ceiba was completed off Equatorial Guinea during 2001-2002. The project included an EPIC contract for 8 rigid pipelines tying back 4 subsea wells to an FPSO. Four umbilicals were also required, plus a subsea support structure, and all were fabricated at our local facility in Warri. Time frames on the project were extremely tight, and there was a high risk of congesting the field with interfering risers, pipelines and umbilicals. In order to prevent congestion we proposed and implemented a riser support structure to accommodate all risers, eliminating more than 172 crossings that would otherwise have been necessary. The Acergy Polaris was used in deep sea lay configuration, and the Acergy Falcon on other parts of the project.
