Langeled Pipeline Installation

With a value of $250 m the Langeled Pipeline Installation Project is the largest contract for Acergy’s Northern Europe and Canada Region.The Langeled pipeline exports gas from the Ormen Lange field, and runs from Nyhamna, Norway to Easington, UK. When completed, the pipeline will be the longest and largest diameter subsea gas pipeline system in the world to date.

Statoil, who were responsible for the planning and execution of pipelaying in conjunction with Hydro the development operator for the Ormen Lange field, awarded Acergy a contract for the installation of 1040 km of the Langeled Pipeline. The contract was signed in March 2004 and pipelay installation was performed through 2005 and is continuing in 2006 by the Acergy Piper. The overall length of Langeled pipeline is 1166 km and in 2005, 528 km of 44" pipeline was installed in the southern section between Sleipner and Easington. During 2006, 512 km of 42" pipeline, will be total of 10 crossings and 2 tees installed from Nyhamna towards Sleipner.
