Marathon Volund
Acergy were awarded the Marathon Volund contract in February 2007. Marathon Petroleum Company Norway (MPCN) is the Operator for the Volund field within Norwegian Block 24/9. Marathon will develop the field through a tie back to the Alvheim FPSO, approximately 8 km North of Volund.
The Volund field consists of three production wells and one water injection well. The production wells will be tied back via four-slot manifold and production and gas lift pipeline systems to the Alvheim facilities. A flexible water injection flowline will be routed from the Choke and Metering Skid (CMS), adjacent to the Alvheim East Riser Base, to the water injection well at Volund. All control functions for the Volund field will be provided by a static control umbilical, which will be routed between the CMS and the Volund manifold.
