Based in Singapore, Oliver holds the position of Commercial Director, responsible for sales, marketing and strategic development for Acergy Asia & Middle East . He joined Acergy in 2004, and has worked in a number of high-profile client management roles worldwide. Oliver has a degree in International Business Administration.
"As Commercial Director for Asia & Middle East, a large and rapidly developing region, no two days are the same, there's always plenty of travel and it is essential that one understands the local factors and cultures whether I'm in Australia, India, Vietnam or China.
My days start out by checking overnight emails on my BlackBerry from the US and Europe.
I then speak or meet with key members of the regional team to discuss important issues in our Tendering, Business Development and Marketing activities.
When in the crucial stages of a tender, I spend time reviewing pricing and proposal strategy developed by the project pursuit team. Otherwise, I will be working on preparing the future, meeting clients and identifying opportunities for us to maximise our key strengths and capabilities.
My days usually finish catching up with colleagues in Europe, discussing strategies and preparing for meetings the following day."
