Our History

We began life in Norway in the 1970s providing divers and remotely operated vehicles to support the exploration that opened up the North Sea.

We expanded through acquisition, accumulating operating bases in the UK in the 1980s and a French diving and construction company in the 1990s before moving into both the flexible and rigid flowline markets, and the EPIC (engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning) contracting business.

1997 saw our first significant ultra-deepwater project, off the coast of West Africa, and this was soon followed by a number of further acquisitions around the world including pipelay specialists and an entry into flexible pipe market.

Following a further period of significant and rapid expansion a new senior management team was created in 2003, immediately setting about redefining the focus of the company in to a tighter segment of the offshore market. After completing the turnaround into a positive, dynamic business, we re-branded to become Acergy in 2006, a name designed to reflect the positive outlook and focus of our organisation.

Over the last few years we have continued to strengthen our position at the forefront of our industry. Our company continues to evolve to ensure we have an organisational structure flexible enough to respond quickly and sensitively to our clients’ local demands, leveraging the full strength of our global resources and know-how.
