Tampen Link Hot Tap
Acergy was awarded the Tampen Link Hot Tap project in January 2006.
This project will comprise of detailed design, engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation and pre-commissioning of hot tap assembly incorporating 16" hot tap valve, piping unit and protection structure.
At the heart of the project lies Acergy’s proven hot tap design – a manually welded nipple enclosed by a mechanical reinforcing sleeve. Preheat for the hyperbaric welding is provided by Acergy’s patented induction heating system, designed specifically to handle the high heat transfer conditions encountered on a live major oil and gas trunk line. Tampen Link will be the sixth hot tap performed by Acergy in this way
